next posts

Is there a way makinng <?php next_post_link(); ?> to show the links of the next 2 or more posts? And is it possible to exclude dinamyc the parent category a post is in.. so that next X post_links that are shown to be only from the same child category the current post is in?
Is there any other way to do this (to show next x and previous x links of posts in the same child subcategory with the current post) than using <?php next_post_link(); ?> and <?php previous_post_link(); ?> ?
