Smush It not working

  • Whenever I go to upload an image to my WP site, smush it runs, but then it doesn’t complete and says Dismiss Error. Try again later.

    Then I go back to the “Set featured image” link again and click it, then the photo is there, or it’s not. I don’t understand why it would be there when it said there was a problem.

    I have dealt with it by just disabling the plug-in, so now I don’t use it.

    I tried undoing all plug-ins and redoing them one at a time, and it is smush it that is the problem.

    I’m tired of spending time trying to get this right so I just stopped it.

    Hi @jblake23,

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

    There may be some issue occurring on your site with the WP Smush.it functionality when WP Smush.it try to smush images when you upload it which is causing to display this error message.

    Could you please try setting the WP Smush.it option “Use Smush.it on upload?” to “Do not process on upload” on the following path?

    Admin Area -> Settings -> Media

    same problem. i cant upload image. So, for what this plugin if i cant upload image ? :) and Bulk Smash.it doesnt work, i have 170 images, and see error if i try smash.it all =|

    Have you tried using the WP Smush.it option described in my previous reply?

    The above described option in the latest version of WP Smush.it plugin is located on the following path.

    Admin Area -> Media -> WP Smush.it

    Could you please share me the error message that you are getting so that i can troubleshoot it?

    To get more debug information when smushing images try setting the option “Smushit Debug” to true displayed in the WP Smush.it settings.
