2.1.3 and Rich Text Editor problems

  • Hi! I am helping to look after a number of WordPress based websites for the U3A Network and we have recently upgraded via our hosting company’s Fantastico scripts. Since the upgrade there have been problems with the Rich Text Editor. In particular any button that causes a popup to appear produces a blank popup. For example, clicking on the “Insert and image” button produces a plank popup with its title changed to {$lang_insert_image_title}.

    I have also tried to install FCKEditor as an alternative and it simply will not display in a “Write” page.

    This problem is ocuring on all four WordPress istalls at our hosted site. As a part of my problem resolution process I have installed XAMPP and WordPress 2.1.3 on my local Windows PC. This install has exactly the same problems!

    I should add; I have tried IE7, FF 2.0.0.3 and Opera 9.2 and the problem is there in all (worse in IE7).

    Any thoughts please, it is not feasible for my colleagues to use Quicktags rather than the wysiwyg editor.
