My client runs her own auction twice a year with about 700 lots per auction, all ending on the same day. Bidders must register first (users are not allowed to list their own items). I am trying to determine if your plug-in is going to work for her … some important questions:

    1. MOST IMPORTANT: can we use an Excel file to import all the auction data (number, item name, description, starting price, pictures, etc.)?

    2. Can we add a 15% buyers premium to each lot sold?

    3. Can unsold lots be offered at a set price (% above starting price)?

    4. Are invoices automatically emailed to winners?

    Thank you!
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Your question refers to PRO version and not FREE version. This forum caters to FREE version and I would certainly urge you to email here – nitesh[at]auctionplugin.net for any questions related to PRO version.

Here are responses to your questions:

    1. Bidders must register first (users are not allowed to list their own items).

Yes, all bidders needs to be member to bid on items. PRO has a function to allow user to list their items but it can be easily turned off.

    2. MOST IMPORTANT: can we use an Excel file to import all the auction data (number, item name, description, starting price, pictures, etc.)?

PRO has bulk import feature where you can upload CSV as described.

    3. Can we add a 15% buyers premium to each lot sold?

What do you mean by buyers premium?

    4. Can unsold lots be offered at a set price (% above starting price)?

Do you mean Buy It Now price? If yes, then of course.

    5. Are invoices automatically emailed to winners?

PRO sends automatic emails with payment details. If payment method is paypal, then it automatically generates paypal invoices and send invoice url via email.

Please write to me for further questions.

    Hi Nitesh,

Thank you for your quick response. And yes, of course I will be purchasing the PRO version from you. To answer your questions:

#3. The “buyer’s premium” is the percent (in this case 15%) charged the buyer IN ADDITION TO the purchase price. For example, if the buyer wins lots totaling $100, he will pay $100 + 15% = $115. Usually the “buyer’s premium” is kept by the auctioneer.

#4. Unsold lots are those lots that did not sell in the auction. After the auction closes, they automatically become “buy it now” lots and are offered for the starting price + 15% Buyer’s Premium.

    Thanks again,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

    3) PRO does not have buyer’s premium but I could code it as custom work. Please write to my email as this forum is for FREE plugin.

    4) They dont become automatically though. You can relist them as BIN.

    Regards,
    Nitesh

    Hi Nitesh,

Good. Can you give me a quote for custom work described in #3 (I will need to include this in my proposal to the client).

    Thanks
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

As I told you earlier, we should take this offline via email as this does not concern this forum. Could you email here – nitesh[at]auctionplugin.net for taking it further?

    Thanks,
