I am not sure why but this appears to be a very taboo subject as far as JetPack is concerned. The only conclusion I can come up with is duplicate content and or spam. At the very least would like to confirm the lack of option to re-Publicize a post is for those reasons. Can think of many reasons why a post should have the ability to re-Publicize. There will always be Pros & Cons to all situations and do understand taking a path that will have more Pros is most prudent. If I am off base with this, would like to inquire about what changes to code would be required to override and allow for Publicizing of Old Post’s. Think I narrowed it down to the ui.php file but only have intermediate coding skills. Have requested in previous support email for help on this and was told JetPack staff will not write plugins independently and should hire a Programmer. To me it doesn’t appear that a new plugin is required but changing some existing commands by adding to my functions file as I did with adding custom posts types (or change in core file and have to update when JetPack updates). The request I feel is no more different than requiring assistance on customizing the mobile plugin. Again, my coding skills are intermediate at best so this may not be the case. Any help on this will be much appreciated.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Rest assured, there are no taboos here; you can ask all the questions you want! ??

We didn’t add an option to re-Publicize a post for a few reasons. But mostly, it’s because we try to stick as much as possible to WordPress’ philosophy. In this case, we decided to make a decision instead of providing one more option (see ‘Decisions, Not Options’).
Every time you add one more button, link or checkbox, you make the interface a bit more confusing. Before we do so, we consequently try to decide whether that option is important enough to warrant one more item in your dashboard. If we don’t think adding a new option is justified, we try to offer other ways for site owners to add that option via a separate plugin, or a small code snippet to add to their theme’s functions.php.

Jetpack used to include such an alternative option, as you discovered a few weeks ago in this thread. Unfortunately, that option was removed. We’ll work on adding it back to the plugin, and you can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/1290

In the meantime, I’m afraid there is no workaround; you’ll need to post updates about your old posts manually, or via another service.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for the quick response. I understand and will be looking forward to see the update for Publicize (allowing for filter).

Side Note: Read quite a few of your support tickets here and around internet. Your responses are always well articulated for easy comprehension at any level. As well, you always deliver information that has worth. Unlike the white wash that is given quite to often. After searching for information and getting to one of your resolves, always left with the impression that you really give a damn. Kudos to you.
