Embedded videos not working

  • When I used the visual editor and copy in a youtube link, it appears to start to convert it into an embedded video but then stops and only leaves the text of the url (not hyperlinked).

    Is this a known issue? Not sure if it matters, but I’m using Page Builder. I’m also new to WP, so apologies if there’s an easy workaround to this.

    because it is code, try in the text editor tab ??

    Actually, if the text of the URL is hyperlinked, then it won’t auto-embed the video – it would just be a hyperlink.

    Originally in WordPress when they first enabled the YouTube auto-embeds, you would need to paste in a PLAIN TEXT URL (sometimes I would go to the TEXT editor portion to paste in the link WITHOUT a hyperlink).

    Have you Published your Post and checked it out live online? If you still only see a plain text link, make sure that it’s the right URL including the https://

    There honestly SHOULDN’T be any problem if you’re pasting in a FULL plain text video URL.
