• My website does not have an <h1> tag. It’s important to Google to have an <h1> tag for ranking. How do I add an <h1> tag to my homepage (and any other pages if I choose to do so) but make it invisible to users? I just want to add it for seo purposes.

  • What theme are you using? What’s your site URL?

The simple ansewr to this is don’t.

If you’re going to add a H1 tag, do not hide it form users, but show it for SEO. That is a very quick way to get your site either demoted, devalued or outright banned from the search results. Google doesn’t like cloaking content, especially H1 tags.

The way to do it for real is to add in the H1 tag and style it to suit your site. That way your visitors will see it and the search engines won’t penalise your site for it.
