AIO SEO is Messing Up with the Content Restriction Plugin for Eyes Only

The standard for Open Graph meta is that descriptions can be up to 1000 characters and we follow the standards. Different social media sites use less than 1000 characters but the standard states that the OG meta description can be anything up to 1000 characters.

thank you for that reply, actually the 160 characters im talking about is about the SEO thing which actually absolutely true to be just around 160 characters.

anyways, that is not my main problem, my problem is that the AIO is creating meta description more than what i expect to be just around 160 characters.

who cares about the social media meta, its not like we are after of that, this plugin is about SEO anyway, not about social media marketing.

Also, the problem is its indexing restricted content or its best that it should not index content that is under others plugin parameter like for example short codes.

i just tested it now, its no longer indexing the content inside the shortcodes of other plugins, i notice this before on the settings but the pop up info is quite confusing or vague.

I don’t see any issues with the meta being output by All in One SEO Pack. What exactly are you seeing, can you provide screenshots of the backend settings and front end meta?

the meta description of AIO is okay but the social meta is not, its showing all the content of the post.

it actually work the first time around but after weeks i guess, it came back to indexing the entire content of the post.

you will see on the second screenshot, the meta description of AIO and meta description of facebook and twitter is not the same

I checked that screenshot and I do not see any issues. The plugin is working correctly. It is outputting the Meta Description which is truncated to 160 characters and it is outputting the OG Description which is truncated to 1000 characters. This is correct behavior and is how the plugin has always worked.

yes the plugin works with its predefined standards but outputting the data inside a shortcode is i guess a bug since i activated the so called feature run shortcode in auto generated description.

What is the shortcode you are trying to run in your content? I think you misunderstand what that setting does. It’s there because some themes have visual page builders that wrap content in shortcodes. All in One SEO Pack was having an issue with auto generating the meta description when content was wrapped in shortcodes so this setting was added for those who wanted it so that All in One SEO Pack will run shortcodes before generating the meta description. This has nothing to do with the length of the meta description.

what i want to happen is the AIO description is thesame with social meta description.

Since AIO description is limited to 160 characters, it wont be able to read the rest of the content inside a shortcode.

While social meta description is minimum of 100 characters thus it was able to include the content inside a shortcode for restriction depending on the privileges of the user.

The solution im thinking is how to limit the social meta description to 16 characters, if its not possible.

How do i prevent AIO plugin from reading or rendering content inside a shortcode intended to restrict a content?

If you don’t want All in One SEO Pack to read content inside shortcodes then use the setting here – https://semperplugins.com/documentation/advanced-settings/#run-shortcodes-in-autogenerated-descriptions

There is no way to shorten the auto generated OG Description, if you want your descriptions to match the just manually set a description in the SEO Description field in All in One SEO Pack for that post and the Meta Description and OG Description will be the same.

Okey i understand now, must be pretty nice if social meta description doesnt include content inside short codes, no matter how long its character limit as long as it doesnt read content inside the short codes. Once again, thank you so much for the help
