    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you try to log in to your site via FTP, delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder, and reinstall the plugin manually as explained here:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

Let me know how it goes!

If you continue to see error messages, could you paste them here so I can take a look?

Having the same problem and deleting the folder as you suggest made no difference. This is the error message I get:
    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email redacted] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Facing the same issue here on WP 4.0.1
Deleting the jetpack folder gets back my site then.
    Otherwise I get a 500 – internal server error :/

@abby-may If the error remains after deleting the Jetpack folder, then the problem is not caused by Jetpack. I’d suggest that you contact your hosting provider, they might be able to find out more by looking at your server error logs.

@thejanandersen Could you contact your hosting provider and ask them to take a look at your server error logs? Feel free to paste the related error here, that should help us understand what happened!

Aah, at least its not just me!! I’ve contacted my host and I’ll let you know what I find out.

I have manually removed from and added it to the server and we are still getting the fatal error.

    Error–
Warning: require_once(/home/kim/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-data.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/kim/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 33

@nisajaie It seems that you miss one file from Jetpack: your installation isn’t complete:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/blob/3.3/class.jetpack-data.php

Could you try to download the plugin again and reinstall from scratch, via FTP?

I have done it twice now. And that file is on the server via FTP but I keep getting the error.

Here is a screenshot of the FTP with the file:

I’m not sure what’s causing the issue then. That’s especially weird considering both files haven’t changed since the last version of Jetpack. The only thing we changed in jetpack.php was the version number.

How did you reinstall the Jetpack? Did you make any changes to file permissions when uploading the files to your server?

Just did it manually via FTP. No file permissions were changed by us.

Working now. I don’t know how. Thanks for your help.

I’m having a similar, but not as severe problem. I upgraded to WP 4.1, then to Jetpack 3.3. My site kept running, but I could not access the admin pages (blank page, no error).
I downloaded 3.2.1 and installed it, which gave me back the Dashboard and amdmin menu, but many of the admin pages came back blank (e.g. posts, pages, themes).
I downloaded 3.2 and installed it, which gave me back the Dashboard and amdmin menu, but many of the admin pages came back blank (e.g. posts, pages, themes).
I downloaded 3.1 and installed it, and everything seems to be working now

On another site I run, I’m able to run WP 4.1 and JP 3.3 with no problems.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

@leetramp This might not be caused by Jetpack, but by a lack of memory available on your site. Could you try the following:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

If that doesn’t help, it might be worth checking your server error logs to find out more about these blank pages. The detailed errors will help us understand what’s going on.

    Thanks!

I’m also having same issue of when I tried to update my jetpack it gives me a fatal error message.
I can’t get into my site to make any changes or delete jetpack, because every time I do it gives me the “Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required…”
Only able to log in to wordpress but not go into my WP admin or visit my site without getting the fatal error message.

Leetramp, aonde eu consigo estas vers?es anteriores do plugin. Estou a procura de um que seja compartível com wordpress 3.8.5. Por favor se alguém soube me indique.
