  • Did it happen after a particular post? I once had this problem and it was due to bad coding in a post.

I had this problem too. My blog displayed fine in Mozilla, Safari, and IE7 but not in IE6.

I just made the main column a little narrower and it fixed it.

well I tried making the main content area smaller from 520 px down to 470 with a few steps in between but that doesn’t do it. It was overlapping in firefox and in IE the same thing happens, it appears there for a half a second then the sidebar jumps down to the bottom.

I’m not sure about bad coding but in that post I have a picture, and a youtube video. I’m not sure what you mean by bad coding.

sometimes, if you use the rich visual editor, it will create improper code that will mess with your sidebar. Change the status of the post to draft and take a look at your site again. If your sidebar is showing properly now, it may have been the coding that resulted from the image (could have a div tag or something).

No clue how to change it to draft.

I have removed the image and the video, but it still doesn’t show up in IE on the side, it shows up at the bottom.

I don’t have WYSIWYG enabled and I can see all my code.

    baffling.

oh also, the sidebar is showing up to have a gray background on my friends computer and not white like it does on mine.

this is getting better and better huh?

going through the 33 errors here:

    FIXED!!!
not sure which error did it but I think it had to do with me using <br> instead of <br/> , you gotta close the <br> so the latter one did that.

but the validator rocks, def a bookmark ??

    thanks guy!

    happy it worked out!
