Change post or page container colour

Hi I am using Tempera Theme can any one advise how to change the container color for the posts or pages.

I know nothing about css but might be able to fudge my way threw it.

I read somewhere to edit the style.css but couldn’t find it in the themes directory.

I dont have a link because I am on localhost, trying to proof this .
