I just updated to WordPress 4.1 and updated each of my installed themes as well. I am using Twenty Fourteen, but it is now broken. I deleted it and reinstalled, but got the following message:

    Installing Theme: Twenty Fourteen 1.3

    Downloading install package from https://www.ads-software.com/themes/download/twentyfourteen.1.3.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

    Theme install failed.

It also appears that the WP 4.1 update automatically installed the new Twenty Fifteen which I didn’t have any interest in.

    Please help.

  • I did the same updates now i have a white screen. It is crashed. ??

    Hello,

Don’t be scared, just download a fresh copy of 2014 and upload the sltyle.css to the root of your theme.

    Salut

Twentyfourteen has been fixed, so download a copy of the entire theme folder and replace the entire folder.

If you cannot login to your site, you’ll need to use FTP or Cpanel to access your site files and manually delete twentyfourteen from your themes folder.

Has been fixed? Not sure if I should update just yet

    I updated, works great.

Yes, for the most part. I found my sidebars gone and content missing, but then found the content in the ‘inactive sidebar’ area of the Widget window. Not a disaster, but very inconvenient.

I just updated with a themeforest wordpress theme and now it’s white screen blank, I can’t login or do anything. How can I revert it to the last version? Is there an easy fix or do I have to re-install everything? Luckily it’s a new website and I haven’t done much as far as changes but I did enough that’s pretty frustrating if I lost it all.

I updated to 4.1 & my 2014 theme went crazy too. I have no idea how to fix it.

I had an elancer create a child theme and redo the default settings to my liking. Now, everything he did got reversed. I can’t get a hold of him anymore.

How do I fix it? These suggestions make no sense to me: download a fresh copy of 2014 and upload the sltyle.css to the root of your theme.
download a copy of the entire theme folder and replace the entire folder.

I don’t know what that means, so how do I go about doing this exactly? Can someone give me a step by step for Dummies please?

I have a multi site twenty fourteen.
I updated to version 1.3. The
Secondary menu in left sidebar disappeared.
Also, I am unable to restore one of
    the plugin widgets.
