• Hello. I have noticed a huge number of folders and files 3-4 months old in the /wp-content/cache folder on all of my sites. Since my hosting has inode limit, I realized I need to delete something or I’ll soon hit it. Deleting them with the plugin didn’t work, so I thought I’ll delete them manually through cPanel/FTP.

    Sites in question
veryummy.com – /wp-content/cache is completely empty, have 2months old backup as a last option
hspf.info – I didn’t delete everything from /wp-content/cache here, but seems like I delete enough to break it too. Have 1 month old backup as a last option
mladez-hdz1990.org – I restored /wp-content/cache folders from a 1 day old backup, still broken and can’t login to WP
    fashionovelty.com – /wp-content/cache completely empty

I’d rather not resort to uploading the old versions of sites, too much new content will be lost forever…
Is there any way to solve this huge issue? Will the plugin automatically rebuild the cache and fix the problem for me on the next scheduled cycle? I don’t remember how frequent the cache cycles are setup…

If I could somehow revert the changes by dabbling with wp-config.php or some plugin .php files, or maybe the database, that’d be awesome.

I couldn’t understand. Did Wp Fastest Cache cause a huge issue?

Yeah, it amassed something like 50k total files. I was using the minify CSS thingy.

I solved the immediate issue and decided to abandon using WP Fastest Cache, despite reading positive reviews a couple months ago.

The loading speeds and everything were visibly improved, however, I couldn’t afford getting so many inodes/files every day.

are the files in the /wp-content/cache/all or /wp-content/cache/wpfc-minified ?

I didn’t bother to check honestly. I just deleted the plugin once I edited the .htaccess file.

I’ll try the Wordfence security Falcon engine cache. It doesn’t have minified CSS and JS, but I hope that it won’t spam my server so much with inodes.

I got it. but the cache plugins work like that. Creating file is a rule of cache plugins. The file is written into harddisk or in the RAM. But I will add a feature which limits the cache files.

I didn’t mean to bash on your plugin, it really worked great, the difference between having it and not having it is visible.

However, my “everything unlimited” hosting has one and only limit – number of files allowed on harddisk is limited to 250 000. Seems like a lot, but really, with WP sites and a lot of content on them it’s actually quite easy to get close to it.

Thanks for you assistance Emre – if I ever get back to using your plugin, I’ll donate.
