Multiples meta description for every language?

  • 1. your permalinks settings: Url/Postname
    2. if you are using a static front page: No
    3. your Polylang settings: Polylang 1.6.2

    Hi,

    I m looking for a way to make multiples meta description for the home for every language that my site have. (exemple : mysite.com/en, and mysite.com/fr).
    With modifying header, i can only write one, and seems google does take care of “lang=”.

    At this moment i just pu 

    <meta name="description" lang="fr" content="..."/>
<meta name="description" lang="en" content="..."/>

    In the header, but many peoples say that the lang= is useless and google may don t love it.

    Hi!

    WordPress standalone does not handle the meta description. Polylang does not handle such thing either. So you should turn to an SEO plugin if some handles multiple meta descriptions. However, for what I understood, although what you want to achieve is perfectly valid from w3c perspective, it seems that it is quite useless as no major search engine is handling this correctly. It seems for example that Google takes only one description and it may the one in the wrong language!
