Landing page optimisation, seo freelancers?

Where can you find a trustworthy and skilled freelancer to help with stuff like landing page optimisation?

All the SEO companies seem to want clients that know nothing about seo so they can charge heaps for cookie cutter packages.

Whenever I ask for specific tailored assistance they don’t respond.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions, either on the site design, or on where (other than odesk etc) to find a good freelancer I’m all ears.
