Installing WordPress

  • I have a news website by PhP coding. Now I want to convert to WordPress and install WordPress themes.

    1- What is the process?

    2- Will my archives of my current website be protected? How can I retain those old news in the same category, for instance, whilst installing WordPress for the first time on my domain?

    1- What is the process?

    Install WordPress, then import or transfer your content, and how that gets done will depend upon the format of your current content. Do you know what that format (database or whatever) might be?

    2- Will my archives of my current website be protected?

    WordPress will use its own database, so there should be no conflict there unless your host allows only one database.

    How can I retain those old news in the same category, for instance, whilst installing WordPress…?

    Installing WordPress and then either importing or transferring your content will be done separately, and there will almost certainly be a way for you to retain your categories and so on. However, you might or might not need outside help if you are not already a database expert or planning to become one! ??
