• Hi,

In my site https://santebarleyreview.com on this link i have a social share of almost 300. And i have some other post that have the social share as well.

I would like the total of the social share be the total comments instead of comment count?

In this site, my comment is mostly from facebook, disqus, google+ but not wordpress.

    Hope you guys can help.

    Thanks

    Julius

    Hi,

Anybody have some solutions to this? Okay, instead of total of the social shares, how about TOTAL of all the comments (coz in my site https://santebarleyreview.com i have 2 comments (1 facebook, 1 google). Can this be computed to get the total comments?

If not, can we put beside the total comment – a total share value coz as for the same link; i have 279 shares for now.

    Thank you.

My guess is you’d have to write some sort of php or jquery module to use the social APIs to get the counts, then override where the comments are displayed in the theme. Unfortunately, I doubt that you’ll find a ready-made solution.

    Thank you Bdbrown,

Question: in the sharre.php (i think) which is the social share of HUEMAN, can we get the total share count there?

If its not possible, then it would be fine. I’ll just live with it then.

    thanks..

I suppose the short answer is yes. But there are actually two sharrre.php files, one of which has embedded javascript, and a separate javascript file. If one wanted to go through the js scripts you could probably find the counts and then do something with them in whichever php file is relevant. I don’t do much js so don’t know how much work that would actually be.
