• Hello!

My problem is exactly that. I am using 1&1 hosting and I have configured wordpress to send Mails via smtp over 1und1.smtp.de ( WP-Mail-SMTP ).
The test-mails with this plugin works so far.

What doesn’t, is Contact Form. Every time I try to send a message it says: Message coudnt be sent ( red box ).

    Thank you!

I can follow the steps until “3. Configuration of WP Mail SMTP”.

Whenever I check “Use PHP mail() function to send emails.”, it works.
But the other option, which is advised, doesnt work ” Send all WordPress emails via SMTP.”.

It says SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110)

Why does it work one way and not the other?

Looks like you haven’t setup your connection to the 1&1 SMTP server correctly. You may need to check your hosts requirements for SMTP or contact them for assistance.

My communication with them lead to a quick answer.

“I am very sorry that you are affected by this bug. We were able to reproduce the issue and are working on a solution for you, so the mail sent by a script is available again. Please understand that it may take a little time.” ( google translate )

So for the time being, i’ll practice patience.

    Thank you all againt!
