• I was playing around with importing my Blogspot posts into a new WordPress blog and messed up some things. I thought the easiest thing to do would be to delete all of the posts from WordPress and start over, but now I can’t find a way to re-import the posts and associated comments, media, etc.

    Is there any hope? Thanks.

    – re-import from Blogspot?
    – can you clarify your question a bit?

    Thanks for your reply, Tara.

I imported the posts from Blogspot, using the import tool in WordPress. Then I selected all of the posts and deleted them, after creating a mess — entirely my own fault.

Now, going back to the import tool in WordPress, it says all of the posts are cached and it won’t give me a button to import them again. I can’t find the cache to access the posts, and I can’t re-import. I’m stymied. ??

try a few basic troubleshooting steps:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.
    – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thanks again, Tara. I’ll give your suggestions a try and report back.

Okay, Tara. I’ve completely deactivated all plugins (there weren’t many I’d activated), uninstalled the Blogspot plugin, switched to a completely new, unedited theme, reinstalled the Blogspot plugin, and the same issue remains. I do have an import button now, but WordPress simply skips reimporting my blog posts; it still “sees” what was imported and then deleted. ??

have you duscussed this with your hosting provider? They may shed some light as to what’s going on

Yay! I finally got it! I had to redo everything several times (the deactivating, etc.), but it finally worked, and I was able to reimport my posts. Whew! Thanks for the help, Tara!
