• Hello, I have a wordpress blog setup and have been using it for some time. Yesterday I installed another wordpress blog into a subdirectory. Install worked fine and the second blog is up and running, however when I try to login or anything more than basic viewing of the blog I get a 500 error. My first blog works perfectly still.

I haven’t a clue what is wrong, all the permissions seem to be correct, and it seems to be accessing the database correctly.

  • Getting a 500 error most probably means your web server will have some error messages for you in the web server log. Have a look and you’ll be able to track down where the error occurred, and from there, why.

I am on a college server and it would be very difficult to get that log.

Just to add I have two different prefixes in the wp-config files so that shouldn’t be the problem.
