Title and Caption Generate Repeating Backslashes

If you use a single quote in the “Title” or “Caption” properties of the plugin, a backslash is inserted in front of the single quote when you save the settings, then the backslash is escaped with a backslash.
The next time you save the settings, each backslash is then escaped with yet another backslash until you end up with a caption that says something like this…
We\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ll be back soon!
