Feature requests: Choose oldest post, and resend in MailPress
-
Hi Guys,
Firstly, thanks heaps for Revive Old Post! It’s the most awesome thing for running a blog with heaps of content on autopilot.
Three small requests to make it even more awesome:
1. Adding a feature so that it always picks the “oldest” post that hasn’t been recently shared. That way it would cycle through all the blog’s content over time.2. Making it aware of regular posts, so that Revive Old Post doesn’t share posts when I’m actively posting on the blog (as opposed to away on holidays or at the beach). For instance, if I’ve just posted an article, it would wait the specified interval between sharing before sharing an old post. If I post again during that interval, it keeps waiting again until there’s an idle time of the specified interval.
3. Integrating with MailPress: MailPress stores an identifier in its database to prevent old posts being resent in the blog’s newsletter. I think it should be relatively easy to delete this identifier so that MailPress will see the revived post as new, and include it in the blog’s next email newsletter. Here’s an article I wrote on how to do this manually, which may help.
If you guys add these features, I’ll definitely buy the pro version!
Thanks,
Graham
