Fairly painless upgrade from 2.1.3 to 2.2.

I noticed the Visual Editor (tinyMCE) doesn’t appear when I use Firefox 1.5.x on my Mac nor Firefox 2.0.0.3 on my windell. Oddly, it shows using IE 7. I’m sure it was there when I used 2.1.3. No big deal since I usually prefer to write in code or quick links.

When I deactivated all my plugins on 2.1.3, I noticed when I clicked on the Dashboard tab, I was still redirected to “..wordpress/wp-admin/index.php?page=index.php” (a nice blank page) rather than to “..wordpress/wp-admin/”. I figured this “feature” was due to a plug in but I still had the same redirection on a mint 2.2 install with no plugins running. I am willing to bet it has something to do with my recent addition of the self-hosted wordpress stats plugin but my code debugging skills aren’t strong enough to confirm it.

  • Hello,

I have a similar problem with firefox and IE. Since the upgrade to 2.2 the Visual Editor shows a blank box when editing with firefox 2.0.0.3 on windows xp. With IE 7 there seem to be no problem.
    thanks for helping

    Hi,

I logged out, cleared history/cache and cookies from my browser and now at first sight the visual seems to work fine.

Visual editor is back. The offending plugin my page orderhas been updated and now works with 2.2.

The author went above and beyond my emailing me with the update announcement. Another reason to leave comments with plugin developers.

Took the rogue index.php file out of my plugins folder and the dashboard redirect works again. Not sure how it got there in the first place.
