Use the most recent version of the plug, we had a scan start on January 1st that is stuck 15 seconds in at “Scanning for known malware files”. I’ve tried clicking on “Click to kill the current scan” but it is still stuck. I’ve also tried restarting the web and database services and disabling/re-enabling the plugin. Is there a way to manually kill the scan? Previous to this scan, we’ve had no problems with scans completing (or canceling an active one).

I managed to fix it with the following (a solution for someone else’s unrelated Wordfence problem):

    1. Exported Wordfence settings
    2. Selected “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?”
    3. Deactivated the Wordfence plugin
    3. Uninstalled the Wordfence plugin
    4. Installed the Wordfence plugin
    5. Imported Wordfence settings

The new scan is running now!
