• I created a new role called site manager, inherited the administrator capabilities, unchecked delete user, remove user, and level 10 capabilities.

    When I login with a user given the site manager role, and I go to edit a user or add new user, the option to select this new role is not available.

    I understand why the administrator role is unavailable in the add new user drop down, but I assumed the new user role I created would be available to a user with the new role.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • I have the same problem. Not sure what bravewhale means with site manager role (multisite?).

    My setup is not multisite.

    Site Manager is the role that I created. It’s unique to my situation. I actually figured this out. I think because I duplicated the Administrator role, it was not showing up in the select box for non admins. I should have duplicated the editor role. At least I think this is what the problem was.
