I am not thrilled with the giant header image, and I’ve tried to remove it. I was able to successfully remove it on all pages through Appearance Customization, Header…all EXCEPT my main page.

When I go to my main page, there is a field below the visual editor field. The field is titled “Individual Header Image.” See below. The field is not toggled, and yet it still shows the image as selected and the image appears as a header.

Here you can set header images and welcome text for single pages.
Toggle individual header image for this page

Help! I just want it gone!

    Thanks!

  • Well, just remove it if you want it gone. Go to Customize > Header image and remove it. If you’ve set one from the Individual Header image remove it from there too.

I’ve removed it from both of those places. According to the back end of the site, the header image no longer exists. However, it’s still showing on the page. That’s my issue. I think it’s a glitch with the page itself.

    Thanks.

There might be a caching issue then. Clear the cache if you have a caching plugin. You could also post a link to your website.

Also, if you’ve set it from the Individual header option, you’re going to need to actually delete the image link, not just click the Toggle checkbox.

Can you update this thread on how to only show the full page header image only on the home page? the rest of the pages should load with the menu bar at the top of the page.

There is an option that does exactly this in Customize > Welcome area
