help choosing an event calendar plugin

Greetings friends – I’m using wordpress for a local professional group I’m in. Half our posts are about events we’ve got coming up, half are news, photos, recommendations, etc.

I’d like to add an events plugin that could display posts that are also events, so we’re not making posts in two different places, if that makes sense. But the plugins I’ve seen (and it feels like there’s a million) all seem to really separate the calendar from the news… so I assume that if we post a new event, it won’t go to our rss, won’t go out to our feedburner subscribers, etc. It’s like we’ll have to write a post about it, then go post it to the calendar.

is there a calendar plugin that’s simple, so I can just keep writing posts, and throw an associated calendar date on the post if I want?
