Can’t add text to a post or page in Explorer 7… can’t add new categories

  • Very strange! I was doing fine yesterday, I created two blogs and customized them and even posted one post on each and now today, I can add a “title” but not text into a post or a page in Internet Explorer 7. I can’t add a new catagory either (again, I was able to yesterday)

    I did try Netscape 8.0.4 and I’m not having any problems with that but I prefer Explorer. Any suggestions?

  • I am having the exact same issue with IE7 (on two different computers, a desktop and a laptop) but also with FireFox. I will try netscape next but this is very frustrating.

    I can view everything in admin but nothing posts, updates, deletes, etc. I just get a blank page or IE cannot open the page errors.

    Anyone else know what is going on?

    I just manually upgraded it to Version 2.2, The posts show and everything is in order, I STILL cannot edit or enter text into a new post. I can enter a subject line but cannot put text into the post box in either regular view or html. I can’t add categories… it lets me but doesn’t keep them.

    Still no answer from anyone… I know others have had this problem. I have all the proper versions of SQL, etc.

    Updates: I fixed the “not able to add new categories problem” using the response this this post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/117993?replies=33 (if that helps anyone else). I added a .htaccess document to my wp/admin folder as shown.

    STILL HAVE A PROBLEM: I can create a post a new WordPress but cannot add text in Internet Explorer 7, but I can in Netscape.

    Have I stumped the experts?!!

    I still can’t add new catagories or text into a new post in Internet Explorer 7.

    I have done the fixes shown on another post, so I can now do it with Netscape navigator. Specifically, I have added an .htaccess file which states:

    <Files index-extra.php>
    SecFilterInheritance Off
    </Files>

    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    SecFilterInheritance Off
    </IfModule>

    I still can’t add text or new categories in IE 7.

    Still waiting for help or suggestions, is this a problem with WordPress 2.2?

    I saw in another post that in the Options page that www. was missing from someones url and it wasn’t working. This was my problem and I think I’ve had it a few times. WordPress needs to fix this problem.

    My problem was fixed by disabling the “Bad Behaviour” plug-in, unfortunately that means that all kinds of spam is coming in.

    I do have Akismet but everything that gets “caught” still appears in the side bar on the blog and as yet no one knows why.

    If it isn’t one thing…
