• Hello all,
Had someone contact me to make some changes to her site because the company she hired to build it has become rather difficult to work with.

I need to edit a woo-commerce php file to NOT show related products, which appears to be pretty straightforward only if….

…it could be edited. All of the editing seems to have been turned off. Where one would see an edit button under the plugins, nada, nothing. Where one would find Appearance–>Editor, nothing. It is crazy-making.

    Any ideas?

  • Sounds like the company who set up the site may well have restricted access to the full Dashboard?

Are you logged in as an admin (under your profile)?

    Hey there,

I would recommend going into the file structure via FTP. It sounds possible that these difficult developers she hired may have installed a plugin in which to hide such menu items and possibly even one to make it “read only”

That is your best bet at this point. The other thought is the person who hired you to do this didn’t actually make you an Admin. And it gets trickier if its Multisite in which case you would need to be Super Admin and these edit buttons would be found on Network Admin level.

Hope you get this figured out!

    Thanks all –
Signed in as admin, so going the FTP route to see if I find something funky going on there.
