theme/plugin help

It sounds like you might be new to WP site development. (If not, I apologize!)

One of the things I do to make it easier/quicker/cheaper to develop sites for clients is use a theme framework. There are a number of popular ones, but the one I use is iTheme Builder (another one a lot of people use is Genesis). This framework allows me to quckly layout the pages (for instance the 3-part bar right above the footer on the 3rdchamber.com site), and gives me a lot of CSS classes for easy styling.

Theme frameworks are a paid product, but part of what you pay for is the support from the framework company to help you get the site looking right. If you are going to do more development projects for clients, a theme framework might be very helpful.

Thank you for your reply, i have used wordpress before but never created a website like https://www.3rdchamber.com/ before.

Can you recommend some plugins for the trending, whats going on now and the “how would you rate the performance of the current government?” And also the slider?

You will want to search in the repository (and on Google for premium plugins) for:

• popular tags and/or categories
• Recent comments
• voting/polling
• Sliders

There are a number in each type.

I don’t see one with the voting meter like the performance meter. You might have to hire a developer to do that.
