• Hello,

I’m having a commenting issue on my site (www.moralfibres.co.uk) – whenever anyone leaves a comment they receive an error message. I’ve tried to fix it repeatedly, installed a new theme, etc, but I think something is up with my WordPress install.

Is it possible to reinstall wordpress without losing my blog posts/comments/permalinks/urls of individual posts? If so what is the best way to do this.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

All the wordpress content (posts, comments, permalinks, urls, etc) are all stored in database.

So if you reinstall wordpress and use the same old database, then you have all you old data in this new installation.

Make sure you know the database name, username and password. Also make sure you have a complete backup of your website (Files + Folders + Database).

Hope you understand this. Feel free to reply in case you do not understand anything or have some questions.

    Regards,
    Shreyans

    Hello,

You can do it simply from Dashboard – updates – Reinstall.
You will not lose something. Just if you made some core modificiation – all core wordpress files will be overwritten.
Your content and setting stay untouched.
