Sample Ad Unit Code

Hi. I want to place ads in my forums. I can’t figure out what code to put into the Unit Confirm code. Am I supposed to put shortcode there?
Do I have to use a specific plugin for WordPress? I wanted to use one of these plugins for non-forum based ads:
- Google AdSense by Google
- Google AdSense by BestWebSoft
- Adsense Made Easy Pro by SEO101
