• I appreciate the new Blogger Importer in the latest version of WordPress, but what about a Blogger Exporter?

I don’t really understand why someone would create a post in Blogger and then transfer it to WordPress. There’s no way to have a category hierarchy that way. At least if you do it the other way around, creating the post in WordPress first, you can establish and maintain a category hierarchy in the WP post. Obviously, you would lose it to labels upon exporting the post to your Blogger weblog, but you’d still have the multilevel categories intact on your WordPress weblog.

So, a way to create posts with WordPress first and then export them to Blogger afterwards would be nice to have.

  • Blogger would have to create an importer on their end for that to work.

And from spending a lot of time on the wp.com forums, the importer gets a lot of use.

I don’t understand the logic in that, as feeds are an output function and WordPress provides for those.

I’m sure there are people who use the importer function, especially those who began with Blogger before they came across WordPress. However, I have more faith in the longevity of Google than I do wp.com, sorry, so I’d like my backup to be there, on Blogger.
