• I am trying to embed a webm into a page. whenever I try to insert it using ‘insert media’ or the themes in-built shortcode generator all I get is an icon saying [No items found]. If I inspect the file in the Media Library, or if I click on [No items found] it plays fine.

I have also tried it with a H264/MP4 and get the same result.

    Here is the shortcode:

Neither of them work. Just get a blank space.

I can get it to work with a plugin but I dont want a player as such. I just want it to be a video playing on the page with no interactive elements (play button, timeline, time etc)

    Thanks in advance

Does it work if you temporarily switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme? I suspect your theme’s built-in shortcode may be conflicting with WordPress’s built-in shortcode.
