    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Could you give me more details about the issue? Are the videos not embedded properly when looking at the post?

    I’ve tried to insert a Youtube URL using HTTPS in a test post, and it seems to work properly on my end:
    https://i.wpne.ws/ZTlq
    https://i.wpne.ws/ZTev

    They weren’t embedded properly when looking at the post. I use Post by Email in combination with IFTTT. Maybe that’s the reason. When I edit the post and publish they are embedded. I have the same issue with youtube urls ending with /attribution_link?a=

    Yep, this is a known issue. If I sent an email like so:

    https://d.pr/i/1j5jL/2wsEz5Pp

    It comes out looking like this:

    Yes that’s the issue. If I send an email with a youtube url it comes out as a link instead of an embedded video. Thank you Adam for tracking the issue.

    As I mentioned in the GitHub issue above, you may be able to use the YouTube shortcode to output an embedded video use PBE.

    The YouTube shortcode looks like this:

    [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d2VnZu70IY]

    I’m not too familiar with IFTTT myself, but if you can get it to output that in the email and send that mail to your Post By Email address, it might work. ??

    I can’t tell beforehand if there will be a youtube url in the post. IFTTT gets its content of a forum. The content can be anything. There is no option where you can tell IFTTT to put urls between shortcodes.

    ?? Thank you for helping me to find a solution.
