• Hi Matcha Labs! I am using the Background Image Link feature under the Extra tab in the slide editor. I really like the feature that allows me to choose which images to link elsewhere, but I have a problem.

The images link to the correct addresses just fine, but they don’t show the source URL in my browser’s status bar. If I add text and link that somewhere, hovering the text does show the URL in my status bar, but it just doesn’t do it at all for any images.

Also, I am trying to use layers to make spots for users to click if they want to, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to have the whole layer be linked somewhere. Only text within the layer is able to be assigned a link. Is there a way to make an entire layer a clickable link?

  • Hi there,

I might have misunderstood the question regarding the status bar (address bar?) of the browser but we aren’t able to manipulate the way the browser displays this information. I know Safari hides anything after the domain name for example – which browser are you using?

There’s no feature as such for turning a layer into a link.

You could potentially use something like this plugin to create buttons which then you would use in your layer via a shortcode:

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,
    Dave
