Two Domains One WordPress Installation

  • Hi,
    I have installed WordPress once and have two domains (one is primary the other is an add-on). The edits I have made on WP are being applied to both domains (i.e. they look exactly the same.) How do I separate the two?

    Do I need to set up for multisite? Or install WP twice (one for each domain)? Help! ??

  • If you want two separate sites you need to either set up a multisite (Network) installation, or do two separete installations in different locations.

    As for if you need to set up a network site, no. But it could be benificial if you want to share admin and users. There’s good and bad points about doing it both ways, so you’ll need to weigh those up and see which one suits your needs.
