I use Zoundry 1.0.29 as my off-line editor. This week I started getting a “code:403” error whenever it tried to communicate with my blog. The blog is hosted by MidPhase (AN Hosting). This is the response I got:

Dear customer, we enabled mod_secure apache module on your server to avoid problems with server hacking. It doesn’t allow to use xmlrpc.php file to
publish site remotely. Please use your WP admin panel to manage your site.

I queried them again and got the following, more blunt response:

Yes, please use the online editor with your blog.

Am I totally screwed? It appears that out of the blue I am restricted to the WP on-line editor only. Is there any way around this?

Got one more communique from midphase with a little more clarification:

We cannot disable the module by secure reason. Hakes can use secure holes of PHP scripts (Joomla, Mambo, WordPress etc.) of our customers to hack the sites that use such scripts. Actually we enabled it on all our servers.

    Sounds like I’m screwed, right?
