When using self-signed SSL certificates I get this error:

BackUpWordPress has detected a problem. wp-cron.php is returning a SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed response which could mean cron jobs aren’t getting fired properly. BackUpWordPress relies on wp-cron to run scheduled backups. See the FAQ for more details.

Is it possible to have an option to override this?

    Hey there,

Thanks for using BackUpWordPress, I think we can silently handle this in the plugin by skipping SSL validation in the wp-cron.php test.

We’ll get an issue opened on our end and get a fix in a future release.

For now you can just ignore the warning as it’s likely wp-cron is actually working correctly.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We’ll look into why this is happening.

What would be great is if you could Enable Support and send us a message through support, and I’ll pick up the thread there.

    Cheers,

Thank you, it seems the backups are still being done as I see archives and get regular notifications, etc.

This seems only cosmetic when accessing the backups control panel, I still think an option to override it may be helpful in some contexts.

I have just encountered this problem after two simultaneous events. The first was the installation of a Comodo EV SSL certificate, and the installation/activation of Woocommerce Maintenance Mode plugin.

I de-activated the plugin, and ran the manual update, which return the same error.

Is there an update coming with this a user-set parameter? Can I manually edit the code to comment out the SSL validation? Any other suggestions?

I don’t want to update to WordPress 4.3 without a backup. I can use another plugin, but would prefer to stick with BackUpWordPress.
