Site crash after attempted upgrade – PLEASE HELP ASAP

Can you manually delete the Car Demon PlugIn? If you can get it deleted you can grab version 1.3.0 from here: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/car-demon.1.3.0.zip – that’s the previous version you were using.

I’ll try to recreate the issue on a dev site but I might need to know what other themes and plugins you have installed.

Not at all, you can delete the PlugIn and all information will remain in the database for your site.

do I also need to delete the car demon styles?

actually…how do I delete the plugin if I cannot login to the wp-admin?

You don’t need to delete the style PlugIn. But you’ll want to make sure you replace the Car Demon PlugIn with the version you were using. You can find all previous versions listed here:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/car-demon/developers/

You’ll need to FTP into the backend of your site or if you can log into cPanel you can use the file manager there.

OK, thanks Jay. That got me running again ?? I deactivated my “Automatic Plugin Updates” so that the car demon plugin won’t update again. By the way, I am using the customizr theme.

Will you advise once you have done tests on your dev server? I won’t do any further updates on car demon until I hear back from you, correct?

Correct. I’ve setup a dev site and am testing now. What other PlugIns do you have installed? It might help me narrow down the cause of the issue.

I believe the issue was actually caused by an encoding problem with one of the files that caused it to generate some unexpected (and unseen) characters.
I’ve issued a new update that I hope will resolve this problem.
Can you please try the latest version (1.3.3) and let me know if that resolves the issue?

You were awesome in responding to this thread as fast as you did last week, and I thank you for that, but I am not getting any response from you (or any of your team) about another issue I have posted about, namely:

I am having an issue where I post a Facebook link from a vehicle details page and rather than posting the information about the vehicle in the details page, it posts information about a vehicle in the “Other Great Deals”.

How can this be fixed? Or, even simpler (I’m guessing) is there a way to simply remove the call for this? If so, what page and code would I be removing?

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you.
I checked your site and didn’t experience the same issue. It seemed to be working fine for me. However there have been a few other issues that cropped up in the recent release, so we’ve rolled back to version 1.3.0 temporarily while we iron out the kinks.
If you’d like to assist us in beta testing you can download the latest development copy from;

The more people we get to test it out the quicker we can release it.

Since this thread is getting a bit long I’m going to close it so we can focus on new issues.

I’ll be taking a look at your other threads this morning to try and help you resolve them, but my best suggestion is to try the development version so we can get it released with all the fixes.
