Did you also set the primary menu? If you only create the menu, have just that until you tell the theme where to put it. ??

Yes, I did. In Customize->navigation I set it to be the primary menu.

Is it possible that something ‘got lost in the translation’ when I changed themes from D5 Business Line to 2015?

By the way, the reason I changed to 2015 is because I was having a problem and I wanted to confirm that it was not theme-specific.

Menus operate independently of the theme for the most part, but some themes state different location names, so sometimes you need to re-assign the menu location.

Ok, it still looks like you haven’t assigned a location for Menu.

When I build a menu in 2015 at Appearance -> Menus, I check “Primary Menu” and hit the blue Save Menu button. See this screenshot: https://cloudup.com/irvraEnkCoK

Upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard, then open it in your media library and reply here with the file URL, the one ending in .jpg or .png.
