    Hi,

I set up S2Member Pro on a website and got it up and running with no issues. After deciding to use it under a different domain I copied all my files via FTP to the new domain, created a new db, changed db in the config file and have everything up almost the way I want it under the new domain.

The problem is, now my membership controls aren’t letting me into the pages on my new site. I’ve tried as both an admin and as a user, and I’m redirected to my membership options page. It doesn’t seem to recognize anyone as having appropriate access, except on 1 page.

Some other things I’ve tried include:

    -Updated the plugin and theme.

-Creating a fresh user, which has the same problem.

-Turned off the membership control for a few pages and turned them back on. This actually worked on my main page, but none of the the others worked.

-Turned off the S2M plugin and restarted it.

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Mark

  • WordPress migration often comes with problems due to the way it serializes some data.

I’m not saying this is your problem (I haven’t migrated an s2Member enabled site… yet), but it *might* be.

When you imported into your new database, did you use something like a phpMyAdmin export and import? That would not reconfigure any serialized data.

If it’s not too late (and you find this is the problem) try using a backup/migration plugin that can handle un-serializing and re-serializing that data.

If that’s not the issue, I hope you will post your solution because I’m sure others will run into this problem as well. ??

i recently used the wordpress “duplicator” plugin to migrate a wordpress site running s2member and other plugins plus custom theme, worked perfectly, no problems at all on new server/domain

Thank you both for the help. It appears to have been spot on. I used the duplicator, which so far seems to have worked for me flawlessly.

    Good to hear! ??
