    Hi,

I have a WordPress installation at frankston.co, and I’ve included a subdomain to be jobs.frankston.co. Unfortunately I cannot access it.

However I do seem to get something at frankston.co/jobs. I thought that I’d followed all of the steps to make the network correctly. Can anyone please help?

I’ve made the updates to .htaccess and wp-config as suggested in previous Multisite forums.

  • Hey there el_ganadores,

    Hope you’re well! ??

I think you don’t have wildcard sudbomain. I suggest you contact your hosting provider if you are not comfortable setting this up but if you’re comfortable then give this a good read: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/multisite-using-subdomains-not-working?replies=12#post-2755278

Let me know if it helps! ??

    Take care,

Thanks Calvin. I’ve had a read of the link.

You were correct – my web host doesn’t allow the wildcard subdomains which is unfortunate. I’ve included a new subdomain via cpanel with jobs.frankston.co and also *frankston.co.

At the moment though all I get on jobs.frankston.co is Index of and cgi-bin. I can’t access the dashboard or any of the backend. This seems like a positive step, but I’m unsure how to progress. Do you have any thoughts?

Really appreciate the help – thanks!

    Delete the /jobs folder

Go BACK to your control panel (cpanel?) and change the ‘home’ location of the subdomain from /public_html/jobs/ to /public_html/
