Sharing a Custom Taxonomy between CPTs and Users

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is a way nowadays (I found some older articles related to creating a taxonomy for users) to share a custom taxonomy between a few custom post types and users. If not, as taxonomies/terms are getting a restructuring right now, is that something that could be possible in the near future?

Simple use case:
CTax location (Country, City)

I would like to share that taxonomy between users and a CPT called ‘projects’, as they both have location data associated with them.
