Hi. I have the latest version of Social Media Feather, which appears great. I have the share and follow icons set where I want them. So there is a share button under each blog post. However, I am having trouble setting the media links from the Facebook and Twitter Share buttons so that they go to the correct post. They go to the website but not the post and there is only one place to add the url for each one on the settings page. How do I get the buttons under each post to take someone to it correctly? Thanks in anticipation!

I think you are maybe mixing up Share buttons and Follow buttons? Follow links are the ones that link to your profile; Share links are the one that the social network provides to share content, you generally don’t change these (in most cases).

Hi Synved and thanks for reply. I’m happy with the Follow buttons which go straight to the Facebook and Twitter front pages. When I try to Share a blog to Facebook it just shares the home page of the main website, not the chosen blog. Is this something that your plugin caters for or am I doing something wrong here? Thanks, Dave,

Can you please link to your site so I can check what’s going on?

    Yes the site is https://www.southdownsintroductions.co.uk

This is the url code form the SMF settings to the Facebook site – https://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.southdownsintroductions.co.uk%2F

This it the url code to the Twitter site – https://twitter.com/share?url=sdintroductions

    Thanks

You have replaced the Share Links and overridden the url parameter so it’s always sending the homepage, that’s why it’s always sharing the homepage. Share Links should generally be left intact in most cases, press the little arrow-circle button next to each Share Link to reset it and then “Save Settings”.

Thanks, that all works now :-))
