• hi everyone,

    i’m a beginner and started blogging since begin of january.

    my problem is this:

    my site works perfect till today. i was trying to add the favicon and tried to put some code in the child theme functions.php (use that for the first time) but somehow i did something wrong and everything went BLANK.

    and before that i’ve actually also generate a favicon and somehow put it in the child theme folder and then somewhere else while trying because nothing was working.

    so since i couldn’t access my site, i’ve searched on internet and tried to deactivate first the plugins and rename the folder with ”plugins_inactive”. but the site was still blank, so i’ve deleted the theme and child theme through filezilla.

    after that, all of my posts aren’t showing properly on safari and firefox. on chrome it’s perfect.

    on safari:
    the texts are somehow repeated. the right column on the upper part shouldn’t be there, because it also showing right under those pictures.

    on firefox:
    you’ll see two columns, even it should show both columns because of
    <div class=”span-both-columns” style=”text-align: justify;”>
    </div>

    here’s an example of my blog:
    https://jodyssey.net/siquijor2014/

    what i did so far:
    – clear cache
    – uninstalled and reinstalled theme and child theme
    ………and nothing works!

    i’ve read that trying to fix some error code shown from validator.w3.org could fix it, but i honestly don’t understand it. i somehow tried to change my theme and put some css code in the child theme, but yes it could be wrong too.

    does anyone had the same problem and could fix it?

    thanks for your help in advance

    Can you try deactivating your plugins until this W3C validator error goes away:

    Line 148, Column 7: Stray end tag head.
    </head>

    ?

    Hi, the error is still there it’s just on line 142 now. Does the error persist with all plugins deactivated? Did you remember pasting in some code when you created a page/ post before this problem started happening?

    I just looked at the site with Firefox 35.0.1 and got a full page of stuff.

    hi, i just deactivate the DM rights copyright protection and now i guess the error isn’t there anymore. though the blog is still broken somehow

    before this happened, i was trying to put a code on function.php. and when i’ve deleted that code, my page went blank and i couldn’t access anymore. there than that i didn’t do anything different and my post looks well.

    @markrh, Yes the “does not work” title isn’t that accurate. Open the site in Chrome and Firefox – Firefox should have the bug I think?

    on safari:

    @jodyssey, what did you do after your page went blank?

    i’ve downloaded filezilla and first rename the plugin folder with ”plugins_inactive”, since i read that the plugins could be the reason. but nothing happened and the site was still blank.

    so i’ve deleted the theme and child theme on filezilla and then i could access my admin again. after that i uploaded the theme and child theme and i copy those codes in the child theme again.

    even if i use the original theme and deactivate all plugins, the post site still looks the same on safari and firefox.

    Could you check if the issue persists on the theme’s demo site?

    Thread Starter jodyssey

    (@jodyssey)

    i just activate the original theme and deactivate all plugins. please go and check again, because it still looks the same

    Yes, but what about on the theme’s demo site? https://demo.thethemefoundry.com/oxford-theme/

    Have you also contacted TheThemeFoundry about this? You are their customer, I’m sure they can provide you with support.

    the demo looks good..yes i’ve contacted them,but they don’t have any answer for that yet.

    hi,

    i’ve reset my wordpress, because i thought that it would change something, but it didn’t. so i figured out that it works on older version of safari (6.0) and firefox, but not with the version like 6.2.3 or newest. how can i change that?

    here’s the example post
