    Hi Anders and all

First – love the theme. It’s awesome!
I have a question about the featured images.
When you set a quadratic image to be featured, it scales/places from the center of the image and the top disappear.
I have searched in the settings and files of the theme, but I can’t find where it is.

    Guess it’s somewhere in .posts .post.has-featured-image{ } and/or .featured-media{ }

Hope to hear from you soon.
    BR,
    Mads

  • Mads: If I could even figure out HOW to set the background image, I might be able to help you. But I can’t even figure that out, and no one’s responded to my other threa. The theme description says “You can even take it a step further and set a custom background by going to Appearance → Background,” But I have no “Background” option under “Appearance.” There is no such option in the “Customize” menu, either. So all I have is a big, white screen with text on it.

If you have any clues as to how to set a background image – ANY background image – then I’ll take a look at your issue of scaling. Maybe we can help each other.

    Hi Mudwoman,
When you make a blogpost, There’s a featured image below to the right. If you upload a image here it will be the background image of the post as well as the top image when you click in to the post.

I’ve temporarlily solved it by cropping the image in another program, but I would be nice to use code instead of cropping.

I hope this helped you to get the background image.(neither I can find the background-option under Appearance!)

Mads, thanks for responding! I think it worked! Although it looks like more of a very large header image than a background as shown in the product description, but I’ll play with it some more. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, AND for affirming that I’m not the only one missing the menu options!

    Hi Mads and mudwoman,

As for the background images, I think you’re referring to the WordPress.com version of Radcliffe. The WP.com version is developed by Automattic and features somewhat different features than the version available on www.ads-software.com.

As for the featured images, they’re set to a max height of 800px which means that some images will be cropped at the top at certain screen sizes.

    Hi Anders

Thank you for your reply. That explains why I couldn’t find what Madwoman Refers to ??

Is it, as in my post, possible change the way it crops? Now it from the center, but can one align from the top of the image?

    Best regards,
    Mads
