What happens when no GA information is given to a nav item?

The majority of my navigation stays within my site and does not require Google Event tracking. However, some of my links go to other sites.
Can you tell me how this plugin operates when no information is provided? Is a blank event tracked within GA, or is the GA Event simply skipped?
