Setting up a two-language site

Hello!

I already have a WordPress-site up and running on a domain
and now I’m wondering what would be the easiest and most
secure way to setup a new identical but translated site
under the same url but with for instance
“https://…com/en” at the end?

Do I just install a multi-site plugin and clone the
original and then change all the text in the copied site
or is there a better way?

Is this a correct way to do it:

1. Backup the current site
2. Install a multi-site plugin
3. Clone the original and translate it
4. Be f—ing happy because there wasn’t any problems along the way
