First I want to thank you for such a great plugin. Though I’m not using it myself, I have helped a friend add it to her site with great success.

Her site just did an auto-update to WordPress 4.1.1. I can’t swear that it’s related, but now she can no longer edit her tables with the Safari browser. It is fine in all others. I only have Windows – no Safari browser – so can’t duplicate her error. Maybe someone else can? She says when she clicks ‘edit’ for a table, the whole right side of the WordPress admin area turns red (all but the navigation menu on the left). Very odd. Anyone else seeing this problem? Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I don’t think that this is caused by the recent update to WP 4.1.1, and I can’t reproduce this on my test sites.

Can you maybe ask you friend to create a screenshot and then post that here? That way, I can maybe spot what’s wrong.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thanks for the quick reply.

So the first image is when she clicks Tablepress in the dashboard menu.

And this second one is what happens when she clicks ‘edit’ for one of the tables.

The only thing I found with a quick review of google results is something on wordpress.com support way back in 2007 and that effected whole sites. He never actually said what the problem was.

    Hi Christy,

thanks for those screenshots, that helps a lot!

The reason for this problem seems to be that one of the CSS stylesheet files (which contains the commands for the browser on how to lay out and position the various elements on the page) is not loaded properly on the “Edit” screen. That’s why everything looks broken and out of position.

To find out more about this, I’d like to take a direct look at this on the site, if possible. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

That other thread for the wordpress.com issue is most likely not related here, as WP did not have different color profiles back in 2007, yet.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Christy,

thanks, I have received the email and was able to take a look.
I’ve sent you a reply with specifics on my findings.

For reference to others: It appears that this is indeed caused by a CSS file not loading properly, somehow caused by the CloudFlare integration that the site in question uses.

    Regards,
    Tobias
